The Spark: A Mother's Story of Nurturing, Genius, and Autism

A Mother Ignites The Spark In Her Autistic Child

Kristine Barnett's son Jake was autistic. She enrolled him in special-ed and he was soon under therapy. However, Jake did not improve but got quieter and more reserved. Against better advice Katherine took him out of school and decided to put him in a regular school. Before that she spent time with him to help prepare. Instead of improving the things Jake had miles to go in, she worked with him on the things he loved to do. She did this to draw out her child from a black hole he seemed lost in. Her care and attention made Jake go from being a child who was not expected to read to a prodigy who can understand advanced concepts in physics and math.

This is her incredible story.
